After leaving beautiful Alabama Hills we traveled north on 395 past Mammoth Lakes to Hartley Spring Campground just south of the  June Lake turnoff.  This little hidden gem is a bit of challenge to get to.  The road in is dirt and the last bit when you turn off dirt road coming in is bumpy and curvy.  We made it in our 35’RV and there were a couple of large trailers that had also made it in.  Once in you are well rewarded, very few campers and the 8000 foot elevation gave us much needed cool weather after the desert.  There are no hookup, dry camping and so so beautiful .

This was the view from our campsite, no one near us. Deer came in to graze in the afternoon. Iris and Zimba see their first deer of the trip!

Taking a hike with the kids. Iris went crazy smelling every log, bush and twigs hunting for varmints. She is the happiest dog on earth

Zimba loves hiking too, he is a bit more timid.

What a campsite! The smell of sweet pines and cool breezes!

Cooler evenings call for blankets and snuggles.
